It has been a productive Saturday for the LR on WHEeLS team as they start the field testing of the new iteration of the project.

Now installed in over 60 schools in the Province, the LR on WHEeLS or Learning Resources on WiFi Hub for Expanded e-Learning in Sarangani continues to engage more learners by bringing it closer to the community.

At Tokawal National High School, the school premises and the households around the Barangay Hall are already connected to the LR on WHEeLS network and the learners are already enjoying the benefits of online learning without having to pay for an internet connection.

With a few more remote communities still beyond the reach of the LR on WHEeLS network, the school decided to come up with a new project that utilizes the school’s motorized vehicle.

Aptly named “Chariot of Knowledge,” the project comprising a server, a router, an access point antenna, and at least 15 tablets will be going around the community to provide an e-Learning experience to the learners in their neighborhoods.

Still in its infancy, the team conducted field testing to have a better understanding of the possible scenarios that would arise once the project becomes full-blown.

After visiting Purok 4 Bulol Lawang in Tokawal as well as the Barangay Hall of Baluntay, the project implementers will make the necessary adjustments in the design and implementation process before its launch within this month.

School Principal Marivic Lomocso leads the preparation of the operations manual, including the routes and schedule of the Chariot of Knowledge.

The learners expressed their appreciation through the system’s messaging feature, saying that it would benefit them because they do not need to go to school to collect and return self-learning modules and that the learning process has been made interactive.
