As the year 2022 begins, DepEd Sarangani recognizes its achievements in the past year and eyes hitting new targets.

During the first flag-raising ceremony of the year, Schools Division Superintendent Gildo G. Mosqueda, CEO VI encouraged the personnel to work harder this year as we expect to face more challenges.
“We have achieved a lot in 2021. We would like to continue the trend in 2022, let us work harder. Let us be prepared for the challenges that will arrive. Let us believe that we can do it. By merely believing that we can make it, we have already completed half the journey,” Mosqueda said.

Most learning focused schools

Among the achievements highlighted is the inclusion of Maasim Central Elementary School in the Top 5 National Finals in the Secretary’s Awards for Excellence in Curriculum and Instruction.

The Curriculum Implementation Division Chief Donna S. Panes announced this, with emphasis on the fact that only three schools from Region XII qualified and MCES is one of those schools.
At the regional level, six schools from Sarangani were chosen as most learning-focused schools in Region XII.

Excellence in Human Resource

OIC-Assistant SDS Nerissa A. Alfafara, CESE also praised the Personnel Unit for its achievement having been validated as Level II in PRIME-HRM (Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management) in the area of recruitment, selection, and placement.

In relation to this, Alfafara challenged the concerned offices to strive to make the same achievement in the other pillars of PRIME-HRM, namely: learning and development, performance management, and rewards and recognition.

Proactivity in implementing limited f2f classes

While the cases of COVID-19 is on the rise in the National Capital Region, leading to the suspension of the limited face-to-face classes, here in Sarangani the preparations for the implementation of limited face-to-face classes shall continue.
School Governance and Operations Division Chief Ma. Shirley M. Cardinal said that her office will be conducting a mass orientation of school heads on the guidelines of the implementation of the limited face-to-face classes as stipulated in the Joint Memorandum Circular No. 1 s. 2021 between DepEd and the Department of Health.

Quality management system

Another area highlighted during the flag-raising ceremony is Quality Management System.
Alfafara recalled that towards the end of 2021 a series of webinars was conducted to orient the division and field personnel on the quality management system.
She also encouraged everyone to continue working on the different aspects of the QMS in their respective jurisdictions in order to improve process implementation on all levels, thus serving the clientele better.
